Silicon Valley Lecture Series
Founded in 1999, the Silicon Valley Astronomy Lectures are presented on six Wednesday evenings during each school year at Foothill College, in the heart of California’s Silicon Valley. Speakers over the years have included Nobel-prize winners, members of the National Academy of Sciences, the first woman in history to discover a planet, an astrophysicist who is an award-winning science fiction writer, and many other well-known scientists explaining astronomical developments in everyday language

ASP Annual Awards Gala
Each year, the ASP recognizes the exceptional achievement in astronomy research, public outreach, and education at the Annual Awards Gala and presentation. The 2018 Awards Gala was held on November 10, 2018, in Burlingame, CA.
ASP2018: Advancing Astronomy for All – ASP’s 130th Annual Meeting was held September 10 – 13, 2018, in the beautiful Sonoma Wine Country for 3 days of workshops, panels, oral sessions, and poster sessions. View photos from the meeting.
Special Event: Film Screening
On September 11, 2018, at the ASP’s 130th Annual Meeting we held a special film screening of Chesley Bonestell: A Brush with the Future, fresh off its debut at the Newport Beach Film Festival, where it sold out and won the Audience Award for Art, Architecture + Design. Recent showings include the International Space Development Conference, Comic-Con International Film Festival, and Worldcon76.
