Chile Total Eclipse
Great Chile Total Eclipse & Giant Telescopes
June 22 – July 4, 2019
Nowhere on earth is there a place more suitable for powerful astronomical ground-based observatories than Chile. The dry air of the Atacama Desert and the flat land and high mountains offer the perfect place for building these giant telescopes. Here is the center of the galaxy with the Milky Way so distinct it looks like a gossamer ribbon weaving its way past the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, the Southern Cross and in 2019 the total eclipse of the Sun.
Galileo & Leonardo’s Tuscan Sky
Rome and Florence
October 7 – 16, 2019
Join our autumn exploration of Renaissance Italy and its unrivaled legacies of art, architecture, and astronomy as we combine four centuries of science with six centuries of art. During the event filled days in Rome and Florence we cross paths with the works of Bernini, Brunelleschi, Giotto, Donatello, and Michelangelo, the masters who set the stage for the life and work of Galileo Galilei and Leonardo da Vinci.
The Great Desert Solstice
December 21 – 28, 2019
Watching the dawn breaking light across the sand as it changes color with the Sun’s rays is spectacular in the Qasr Al Sarab desert. The early morning annular eclipse will provide the eclipse chasers and photographers an extraordinary opportunity. Spend your Christmas holidays with our group of astronomers on this unique annular eclipse and stargazing tour to the United Arab Emirates.
The Great Chile & Argentina 2020 Total Eclipse
December 10-24, 2020
Southern Chile and Argentina offer the majestic Andes Mountains with cobalt lakes, emerald forests and clear, dark skies. Charles Darwin once described Southern Ch ile as “boundless”. After the eclipse on land continue south for a four nights cruise through the majestic fjords aboard the exhibition vessel, Australis. The complimentary excursions afford the opportunity to see thousands of penguins, birds and wildlife. Distinguished speakers will highlight the eclipse and night sky. No background in science is expected.
